About this web site

Originally the whole idea about this web site was to create a place to share my musical compositions with others.

About the music

What you will find here are original works composed by me, mostly instrumentals of different styles and genres. Its difficult to define the music I make by spesific genres, and often I'm not quite sure how to categorize my music, as I tend to blend or mix various styles. A lot of these instrumentals are though in some way fantasy related.

However, I suppose I could mention a few genres or tags to roughly define some of the music that I've made up until now...

Electronic, Movie/Soundtrack, Fantasy/RPG, Classical, Symphonic, Rock, Metal, Psychedelic, World, Folk, Experimental...

The list keeps expanding as I enjoy being creative trying out new things with an open mind. So just dive in and see if you find something you like. :)

Short Bio:

When I was a little kid I learned some simple chords and melodies on the keyboard, but the interest soon fell off as I felt kind of forced to learn by my parents. But the interest came back a few years later, and as I no longer felt any pressure the process of learning became more happy and free. I took some guitar lessons, first accoustic and later on electric guitar.

I started composing music at the age of 14, greatly inspired by different types of game music, especially in the fantasy genre. I listened to a lot of MIDI music, downloaded from the internet, which at the time was a relatively new dimension among common people.
At this time I also returned to playing the keyboard and started figuring things out on my own, playing melodies by ear and having fun experimenting. I have never relied on notes.. they are, at least to me, only for writing things down, for purpose of storage.
I then got a copy of Cakewalk 3 from my dad and started playing around with notes and MIDI instruments on my computer. Since then and up to date I've used different versions of Cakewalk, and I highly reccomend it since its a wonderful program for composing music.
I have also enjoyed trying out different instruments, having fun figuring things out on my own. Thus I have also learned playing some flutes and hand drums too.

I tend to favor instrumental music as it speaks an ancient universal language understandable by all human beings. Music is in fact older than human language.

I really enjoy making music, and hope that I could spend more time on this creative hobby in the future.

The music speaks for it self.

Software & Equipment

I've always used the Cakewalk series for composing and MIDI editing, currently Cakewalk Sonar 6 Pro, which is an excellent professional program with lots of advanced features.

For audio recordings and mixing I prefer to use Cool Edit 2 pro, since its an easy and effective program for editing audio. I highly recommend both of them!

Main equipment: Yamaha Keyboard/Synth, Microphone, Mixer
